Located at 180 Dekalb Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205, Bittersweet operates as a coffee shop serving Brooklyn in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as cafe, espresso bar, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–5 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Bittersweet at (718) 852-2556; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, bittersweetbk.com.

Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brooklyn follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Got a chai latte, 10oz for $4.50, but I was charged $5. The board menu lists $5 as a 16oz, so I expected a 16oz β€” got the smaller size without it being clear. Prices are reasonable otherwise, but the size labeling was misleading. Chai was decent, but maple latte was probably a bit better. Space is tight, good for a quick coffee before/after Fort Greene Park, not really a sit-down spot.

the two baristas working this morning (7/14 around 11am) were so kind, patient, and communicative. I got the last cinnamon roll and it was so delicious with the cold brew. check this place out & tip well!

Pretty good coffee! Small place so it’s mostly takeout.

The scones are life changing. They are not too sweet and have the consistency of an Irish soda bread. At first they do not look like much, but don’t be fooled. The iced coffee is also very smooth and refreshing. I highly recommend without hesitation.

Hit or miss with the matcha. Sometimes the matcha is great. Sometimes they really skimp out on it and still charge $6+ for greenish yellow milk as you can see
